Company Update
Since Parkegate became a major equipment supplier
in the metals industry, in excess of 150 significant contracts have been won for home and overseas
customers, contributing a significant percentage of an accumulative project value
in excess of Two Hundred Million Euro.
Parkegate was recently successful in securing the contract to supply a complete Hot Dip Galvanising Line for an end user in Vietnam. The scope includes an in-line Skin Pass Mill and Tension Leveller. This project represents Parkegate's largest single project to date.
Additionally, Parkegate beat strong
international competition to succeed in winning the order for a significant Sendzimir
Mill Modernisation project in Brazil. ABB worked with Parkegate as a consortium
partner and the modernised mill was commissioned and back in full
production during May 2003.
A second Sendzimir Mill
contract was also secured by Parkegate, and which involved the design
and supply of a virtually new mill for a UK based Company. This represented
the first complete mill which Parkegate supplied and was designed for
processing narrow stainless and carbon steel strip. This mill was
fully commissioned and in production during June 2003 with the new
electrical equipment supplied by Alstom.
The South African market has also proven very successful
for Parkegate, with major contracts won in the stainless steel sector for the uprate of
an anneal and pickle line plus yet another Sendzimir Mill modernisation, involving the supply of an
automatic shape control system together with ABB.
